The Holiday SUCKS

Melissa persuaded Bixby and me to see THE HOLIDAY with her last night. I thought I may actually like it in a guilty pleasure kind of way. (After all, I am the fool who saw THE LAKE HOUSE twice).

The movie was so bad it made me angry. I've shared this with friends who remain determined to see it because they love Kate Winslet. I'm telling you, it'd be better to watch Kate Winslet's Amex commercial on a 2 hour loop than to sit through the offensively bland mess that is THE HOLIDAY.

So, I woke up and watched a DVR'd episode of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and feel better. That show is so damn good. I hope it sustains beyond one season. Good work from everone on that production. Master manipulation, and I mean that as the highest compliment because all story-telling aims to manipulate (nothing sinister in that).

And, I'm telling you, if there's any justice that Adrianne Palicki who plays Tyra (on again-off again girlfriend of Tim Riggins) will become a big star. So talented. Unlike poor sweet Minka Kelli who plays Lyla Garrity. Pretty as a button and just not good. Oh well.
